Linda Escobar performs songs from ‘La Revancha’, explains why album is special to her family [VIDEO]

Linda Escobar released her new album “La Revancha” in June, it’s her first Tejano album in more than 30 years. The Conjunto Hall of Famer spoke about her latest release and performed songs from the album during an appearance on “Domingo Live” on August 4.

“I’ve always done Conjunto but it was time for me to come up with something fresh, something new,” Escobar said in the interview.

It was an album that was special to the singer and her family, she explains during the interview.

The Alice, Texas native began her legendary career at the age of 7 with the debut hit 45 single “Frijoles Pintos” released in 1964 that received Gold record status.

Her biggest influence was her father, late Cojunto pioneer Eligio Escobar, who she now honors with El Veterano Conjunto Festival, that also awards scholarships to young musicians to continue their music education with the Eligio Escobar Scholarship Foundation.
