Tejano superstar Shelly Lares retired from touring after her final LMD82 Tour in December to concentrate on attending nursing school and continue mentoring and producing the next generation of Tejano stars. “Little Miss Dynamite” discussed her plans after retirement with “Domingo Live” on KIII-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Sunday (Jan. 22).
The Tejano ROOTS Hall of Famer shared she will continue to be a part of the Tejano industry with her Shell Shock Records 3 record label developing future stars and LMD Productions with plans to open her own recording studio at the end of February. New music will be released each week during February produced by Lares for new artists including the sophomore single from Anikka, a debut Tejano single from California artist El Gallo Dez, a mariachi track from Alicia C, and the debut Tejano single for Dallas-based Latin Urban artist Christi Lux.
Lares added she will begin nursing school in April and will also perform music therapy for patients in hospice care centers in San Antonio and Eagle Pass, Texas.
